Most popular green superfood blends on the market are ineffective because they provide insufficient quantities of each ingredient to promote health and well being.

Most green superfood mixes sold today are overloaded with ingredients. Although having a long list of ingredients in a superfood blend may sound impressive, it actually reduces the effectiveness of the product - because they contain only tiny amounts of each ingredient.

When a product has 50-80 ingredients, which is common in competing brands, each serving contains mere granules of each ingredient. When taken in trace amounts, even nutrient-dense superfoods will provide little to no impact on your body.

Therefore, most green blends on the market are fundamentally inadequate. They do not provide sufficient doses of each ingredient on a per serving basis to do anything for your health.

Antler Farms® New Zealand Super Greens is a powerful blend of nature's top four green superfoods.

At Antler Farms® we have chosen to create our Organic Greens with only the world's top four green superfoods - and nothing more. This uncommon, disciplined approach enables us to incorporate 100% pure, certified organic ingredients in ample quantities and substantial doses that are required for optimal benefits and effectiveness.

ORGANIC WHEAT GRASS & BARLEY GRASS

Wheat grass and barley grass contain a wide range of naturally occurring nutrients.

Wheat grass (triticum aestivum) and barley grass (hordeum vulgare) are the young leaves of the wheat and barley plant. When harvested prior to the jointing phase, before the plants grow into cereal grains, they contain high concentrations of chlorophyll, enzymes, vitamins and minerals.

Our organic nutritional grasses are grown outdoors, away from environmental pollution, pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers. Our wheat grass and barley grass have a much higher nutritional value compared to grasses grown indoors, harvested in other countries or grown for only a limited time. The reason why is because our grasses flourish under intense UV rays from natural sunlight accompanied by ample fresh water over the course of up to 200 days. In time, deep, penetrating roots develop and absorb nutrients from the exceptionally fertile soil. And the full, vivid leaves transform minerals into complex nutrients that our bodies can utilize.

Our nutritional grasses are carefully harvested at their nutritional peak and then transported to our onsite processing facility within one hour for unparalleled freshness. The dried grass is then milled into a fine powder and vacuum sealed. We are very careful not to expose our grasses to excess air, water or heat, which can compromises the integrity of the product.

ORGANIC SPIRULINA

Spirulina is considered one of the most nutritionally complete food supplements in the world with over 100 nutrients.

Spirulina (arthrospira platensis) is a microscopic, spiral-shaped, single-celled blue-green algae that grows in warm, alkaline waters. It has a high concentration of chlorophyll, and is a great source of carotenoids, essential fatty acids, and various vitamins and minerals. Spirulina also contains the highest concentration of protein for any plant or animal on per gram basis, about 60% of its dry weight, and contains all essential amino acids.

One of spirulina's most beneficial qualities is its ability to bind with toxins and flush them from the body. For the same reason, it is critically important that any algae taken as a dietary supplement is not grown in a setting that may be contaminated with bacteria, microcystins and heavy metals.

Our organic spirulina is grown in a remote tropical area, far from industrial facilties, agricultural farms and human settlements. It thrives on an aqua farm, where the cultures are gently stirred using paddlewheels in clean, saltwater pools. The water is regularly tested for heavy metals and other contaminants by third party laboratories. No pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers are used.

When our spirulina is harvested, it is rinsed with freshwater and dried using an advanced spray drying system. Our spirulina is never irradiated or heated.

ORGANIC CHLORELLA

Chlorella is a nutrient-dense superfood that contains the highest amount of chlorophyll of any known plant.

Chlorella (chlorella vulgaris) is a microscopic, fresh water, single-celled green algae. It is one of the most ancient life forms on earth and has remained virtually unchanged in over 2 billion years. It is comprised of chlorophyll, protein, 18 amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, and a unique phytonutrient complex known as Chlorella Growth Factor.

Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) is an extract of concentrated nucleic factors DNA and RNA. DNA and RNA carry genetic information that all living organisms follow to remain functional. The breakdown of DNA and RNA is one of the primary causes of physical deterioration. CGF is a vigorous healer. By providing your body with nucleic acids, it can repair damaged genetic material, promote healthy cell function and reproduction, and ultimately delay the aging process.

Our organic chlorella is grown outdoors in pristine, mineral-rich, freshwater pools. Meticulous cultivation processes are followed to ensure we produce a clean, pure food product, including daily monitoring of water quality and testing for heavy metals and other contaminants. Our chlorella is never irradiated, and no GMOs or chemicals are used in our entire farming system.

Finally, because chlorella has a thick cellulose wall that the human body cannot break down, the cell wall must be "cracked" in order for humans to access chlorella's nutrients. Once dried, the chlorella is milled. The cell walls are cracked with pressure, without the use of heat, chemicals or enzymes.

What is the History of Use of These Superfoods?

Wheat grass, barley grass, spirulina and chlorella have all been studied extensively and prized through history for their nutritional properties and therapeutic benefits.

The use of cereal grasses dates back to 7000 BC, when ancient Asian and Middle Eastern cultures used wheat and barley grasses in their everyday diets. In 1931, American agricultural chemist Charles Schnabel was the first scientist to discover the benefits of a diet utilizing wheat grass. Japanese scientist Yoshihde Hagiwara is generally regarded as the driving force to barley grass' wide usage after his research declared barley grass to be one of the most nutritionally balanced foods in nature in the 1970's.

Spirulina and chlorella are the two most studied foods in history. Spirulina was a food source for the Kanembu tribe in 9th century Chad and later for the Aztecs in 16th century Mexico. The dense nutritional content of spirulina was acknowleged in the 1970's, with the World Health Organization's description of it as "one of the greatest superfoods on earth." Chlorella was discovered in 1890 by Dutch microbiologist Martinus Beyerinck and cultivated in large amounts in the 1930's as a protein source. It's medicinal effects were found in the 1940's.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHEAT GRASS AND BARLEY GRASS?

There is very little difference between barley grass and wheat grass from a nutritional standpoint. Generally, barley grass has a milder but more bitter taste compared to wheat grass. Wheat grass contains more chlorophyll than barley grass. Barley grass acts as a free radical scavenger while wheat grass contains P4D1, a gluco-protein that acts like an antioxidant.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPIRULINA AND CHLORELLA?

The fundamental difference between chlorella and spirulina is that chlorella is a green algae whereas spirulina is blue-green algae. Chlorella's green hue means that it has a higher chlorophyll content. Chlorella also contains CGF. Spirulina has a higher protein content and is readily digestible without any manipulation of its cells, unlike chlorella. Additionally, spirulina has strong anti-viral, anti-cancer and immune stimulating properties.
